As you will be aware, the Chancellor of the Exchequer gave his annual pre budget report on 24 November amidst growing uncertainty about the UK economy. The biggest changes announced such as the temporary reduction in standard rate VAT from 17.5% to 15% were of course already well known having been anticipated by the media, however amongst the detail of the report were some short term changes to the business tax regime. These are aimed at improving cash flow and as I think they will be of interest to you I have set them out below, together with some of the more publicised changes announced.
